A reality that recognizes our infinite creative potential as humans, whilst recognizing our very finite world -- with all its joys and wonders, but its limitations as well.
Humanity, as it stands, is in the middle of history; too early to explore the cosmos, yet too late to chart and explore the Earth. However, in our exploration outward, we have also delved inward: our technology. Our means of imbibing and enjoying our lives to the fullest - to witness and be part of spectacles that our ancestors could only dream of.
We started with basic trade for survival. Then, collectives and bazaars. Following that, stocks - our beliefs in central, geographically-isolated authorities for private-sector economics. We found and founded massive companies and brands to trust, entities to believe in, with the hope that they would trust and believe in us the same way.
The Internet happened, and our human nature 100,000x’d in the span of a few short generations. Information, commerce, and cultural connection boomed as network effects and a technological critical mass had taken effect for humanity.
However, we found we could not trust ourselves; biases, whether cultural, technological, or economic, crept their way into our society. We could no longer place our absolute and unwavering trust in human institutions of all kinds: technological (who overlooks us when we use our social apps?), economic (who decides how we print and spend money?), and political (how do we ensure our voice is heard?).
A system that demanded and was controlled by transparency. A system that would empower every individual interest while constructing a basis for the whole. Blockchain became that system - a nationless delegation of many individuals, cultures, technologies, and economies that would form a cohesive, yet loosely coupled societal digital collective. However, we still live, think, and breathe as humans. Our existing systems still limit us.
